Envisioning a healthcare system in Manila and around the world that is compassionate, accessible, and prioritizes the well-being of seniors. Through government-subsidized medical care—similar to Medicare in the U.S.—we envision building a future where no family in Manila has to choose between financial stability and the life of a loved one.

Los Angeles, CA, United States, 27th Mar 2025 – The vision of Raymond Bagatsing III  aligns with my own as a philanthropist and entrepreneur—one driven by a deep commitment to creating a better future for our seniors, both in Manila and around the world. Strengthening healthcare systems is more than a policy goal; it is a moral responsibility.

Every senior deserves care, dignity, and respect. In their golden years, healthcare should not be a privilege—it should be a fundamental right, a reflection of the gratitude we owe to those who have shaped the communities we cherish today.

A Personal Story: The Need for Timely and Compassionate Care

This mission is deeply personal. In Chicago, my father once experienced severe stomach pain and asked my brother to take him to the hospital. Within hours—without hesitation or financial barriers—he was in surgery, receiving the immediate care that saved his life. Had this happened in his home country, the outcome might have been tragically different.

In contrast, my mother-in-la  sought medical attention at a hospital in Manila after experiencing symptoms of a clear  heart condition. Despite the urgency of her situation, she did not receive the timely care she needed. The experience felt more like a financial transaction than a medical emergency, and the delay in treatment led to heartbreaking consequences.

This is a reality too many families face in manila and around the world.  Seniors often hesitate to seek medical attention, fearing they will become a burden to their loved ones and convince themselve and their familie  that they are ready   go and just give up on the fight to live.  Many endure pain in silence, prioritizing their family’s financial well-being over their own life and  health.

A Vision of Hope: Transforming Healthcare for Our Elders

But imagine a different future—one where every senior is assured of timely, dignified, and affordable healthcare. A system where well-being is at the heart of society, ensuring that no elder is left behind.

In this vision for Manila’s future, healthcare is not dictated by financial means but by the urgency of care. Government-subsidized programs ensure that no senior is denied treatment due to cost. Hospitals operate with a patient-first mindset, providing immediate attention to those in need. Compassionate medical professionals guide families with empathy, ensuring that every step of the journey is met with understanding and care.

This vision extends beyond healthcare—it is about honoring those who have come before us. It is about fostering a culture where our elders feel valued, supported, and secure in their later years. By building a system rooted in empathy, accessibility, and proactive care, we can create a future where every senior enjoys peace, dignity, and the quality of life they deserve.

A future where love, respect, and solidarity shape the way we care for those who once cared for us.
